MINISTRY DESCRIPTION
PASTORAL ASSISTANT / OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR (FT)

Position:
To assist the Sr. Pastor in administrative needs. To assist the Student Ministry pastor in administrative functions. To supervise administrative support staff. To assist church board members and church volunteers as necessary.

Accountable to: Sr. Pastor
Supervised by: Sr. Pastor and Student Ministries Pastor
Coordinates with:
            Ministerial Staff Members
            Support Staff Members
            Church Boards and Committees
            Deaconesses
            Church Office Volunteers

Ministry Responsibilities:
Pastoral Administration (3/5 time)

  • Facilitate communication with ministries and leaders
  • Ensure the integrity of our data and maximize the use of our database by all users
  • Assist with special projects, events, and/or services
  • Assist with administration of various ministries
  • Prepare & distribute weekly and monthly statistical summaries
  • Assist with Monthly, Quarterly, & Annual Business Meetings as needed
  • Order supplies and materials as needed
  • Prepare correspondence, class materials, etc.
  • Coordinate meetings
  • Recommend any suggestions / changes towards improving your position or responsibilities

Office Administration (2/5 time)

  • Oversee the administrative staffing of our office to maintain high levels of excellence in the ministry and in our communication with our congregation and community
  • Oversee our office resources (copiers, computers, supplies, etc.) and help ensure that we are utilizing our resources effectively.
  • Coaching and training of our staff in computer-related issues
  • Tracking and reporting data on our congregation and guests
  • Coordination of calendars and resources
  • Raise the level of excellence in how we present ourselves to our church family and community.
  • Recommend any suggestions / changes towards improving your position or responsibilities

Relationships:
Maintain mutual relationship with other Ministerial, Support, Volunteer, Committee members, and our congregation.

Skills and Attributes:
The candidate should be a mature and growing follower of Christ, with excellent interpersonal skills, excellent communications and desktop publishing skills (including phone, email, newsletters, brochure design, website modifications, letters, etc.). Position requires high standards of confidentiality and team work. Prefer experience in church office environment, volunteer recruitment, and familiarity with Microsoft Office products and our database management software.

Church Membership:
Though Church participation would be a helpful attribute, this position does not require membership at Meadow Creek Church. However, we expect all employees to be fully supportive of our statement of faith and governing documents.
